SHIFT AI can automatically generate SQL when you're creating new templates or parameters—saving you time and helping you build faster.
Note: Before you begin, make sure SQL Generation with SHIFT AI is turned on in your SHIFT AI Preferences (found in the Settings menu).
When creating a new template or parameter:
Enter the question text (for templates) or parameter name.
Click the “Ask SHIFT AI” button.
SHIFT AI will analyze the natural language input and generate SQL to retrieve the appropriate values or answer the question.
Important: Always review and test the generated SQL before saving it to ensure accuracy and alignment with your data.
Quick Tip: On the Templates page, you can click Entity Tags to instantly replace entity references in both the question text and SQL with parameter variables. This makes your templates dynamic and reusable with different input values.
